GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KKCO) Mesa County libraries, Rocky Mountain PBS, and Mesa County Spellbinders are hosting "Cat in the Hat" week at the county's libraries. Puppet shows, stories, crafts, games, and appearances by the cat are among the highlights.

"Dr. Seuss is a favorite forever with people, and anytime you can get a kid to read anything, Dr. Seuss or anything, it's wonderful," said Bob Kretschman, Mesa County library spokesman.

The big party happens Saturday, November 10th with the "Holiday Hoople-De-Doople" cat stravaganza at the Central Library, featuring a showing of the new holiday tv special "The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot about Christmas!"
