6 times Olympic Gold Medalist and Colorado native Amy Van Dyken Rouen is in intensive care, after getting into an ATV accident.

DENVER (AP) 6 times Olympic Gold Medalist and Colorado native Amy Van Dyken Rouen is in intensive care, after getting into an ATV accident.

Rouen was in Scottsdale, Arizona when she hit a curb and rolled down an embankment, breaking her back.

Husband and former Denver Bronco punter Tom Rouen said she is in “Good Spirits.”

Rouen, graduated from Cherry Creek High School, and won four of her Gold medals in the 1996 Atlanta games.

She won two more in the 2000 games in Sydney, Australia.

Police in Scottsdale are ruling it an accident.
