Clifton, Colo. (KKCO) --- Fire crews were called to a trailer home at 3313 Brownie Circle at 11:07 a.m. on Friday.

The residents were not home at the time of the fire, but two pets were in the trailer, Clifton Fire Protection said.

They said the cat died and the dog suffered smoke inhalation, but was alive as of Friday afternoon.

The trailer has considerable fire and smoke damage, so the family will be staying with relatives, fire officials said.

Clifton Fire Protection is still investigating the cause of the fire.
