GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KKCO) -- A local hair salon is helping needy folks this holiday season, but they're not giving free hair cuts or manicures.

The Hair Loft in Grand Junction is hosting its 2nd annual coat drive. The business is teaming up with Grand Valley Catholic Outreach to collect coats and gloves for those less fortunate.

Organizers saw an outpouring of support last year and hope to get an even better response this winter.

"Our salon would like to have help as much as we can to help the needy and hopefully keep their hearts and their bodies warm," said organizer Kelly Cavanagh.

The drive runs through Dec. 15. You can drop off coats and gloves at the Hair Loft Salon, located at 2493 Highway 6&50 #16, in the Cottonwood Mall, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.

Those who donate will receive a coupon for 10 percent off a service at the salon.

For more information, call Kelly Cavanagh at (970) 985-2117.
