GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Hope of the Grand Valley is an organization designed to help those who don’t yet qualify for government assistance but who still need help.
They offer education, money, and help finding jobs for families, single moms and children. On Sunday they hosted a Spaghetti Dinner to help raise money for a new house, which would provide families a place to stay and save money.
The Stonehaven house is currently under their contract but they don’t have enough money to actually purchase the house.
Along with the dinner they also held a silent auction which featured different prizes from around town. The dinner was held at The End Zone in Fruita.
Kiera Bresnahan who is on the board at Hope of the Grand Valley said they will be hosting several other events to help raise money.
"We can take in families for a few months and help them build a nest egg or maybe single moms and who need help and give them financial assistance but also education on resume building on how to build a good financial base," said Bresnahan.
