PALISADE, Colo. (KKCO) --- People celebrated peaches all the way through the final event of the Palisade Peach Festival.

"Everybody wants to load up on their peaches," said Sarah Brooks, recreation and events coordinator for the town of Palisade. "And that’s one of the biggest things that’s selling here today. Everybody’s been walking away with flats of peaches from all the different farms."

The Palisade Farmer's Market closed off parts of Main Street today with tents of vendors and plenty of produce to go around.

The market is a weekly event in Palisade from mid-June until September, but Brooks said event organizers had to add eight extra booths to the line up this week because the festival attracted larger crowds.

"There are a lot of tourists in town so we usually get a lot more vendors than usual," she said. "People who maybe traveled from Denver or other cities to participate as a vendor just for this specific weekend."

Event organizers said they heard from vendors that this year's Peach Fest was the most successful yet.
