GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KKCO) The grocery giant announced it will hire at least one thousand military Veterans next year. In addition to jobs, Safeway will also work to raise money this weekend for organizations that help Vets recover from service-related injuries and return to work. Safeway's Denver division has pledged to raise $100,000 this weekend. This is the second straight year the company has dedicated the three day Veterans day weekend to raise money for military causes.
