Grand Junction, Colo (KKCO) --- A special meeting was held at City Hall today to try to come to a decision about the fate of the Avalon Theater.
Three different options were proposed at the meeting:
1. Option A would be a full build out of the theater and would include everything it needs to function.
2. Option B would build a shell for the additional spaces like a multi-purpose room, bathrooms and elevator shaft and would be filled in after garnering more funds.
3. Option C is the most basic and would simply comply with ADA and safety upgrades.
A unanimous decision proved that option B would be the best way to move forward with the renovation plans.
An official vote will be held at the City Council meeting on Wednesday June 19 and construction is expected to begin on the theater after that.
