Fruita, Colo (KKCO) --- A fire broke out on the roof of Victory Life Church in Fruita late last night and the Lower Valley Fire Department spent today investigating the cause.

Fire Captain, Gene Holder, said the fire was likely sparked by lights on the roof used to illuminate the cross that were knocked over, but Senior Pastor, Bob Cook, said he thinks the fact that the lights were knocked over is suspicious since there were no high winds last night.

Authorities are reviewing security camera footage and have no set time for when the investigation will come to an end.
