GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- Montrose and Olathe will be heading into the state's final brackets for the 4A and 3A state championships, respectively.
(7)Montrose defeated (26)Glenwood Springs, 6-0, and (10)Pueblo West, 6-2, to advance out of the District 6 tournament. They will play (2)Broomfield in their first game of the state playoffs next Saturday at Cherokee High School.
In 3A, (13)Olathe dominated (20)Peak to Peak 15-5 in the first round, and followed that up with a big upset over (4)Hotchkiss, 6-2, to take the District 4 title. The Pirates will face District 5 champions Trinidad Friday in Greeley.
The final tournament is double elimination.
