Washington (AP) Authorities in Iraq are awaiting identification of the remains of three bodies, a day after the remains of a pair of kidnapped contractors were identified.
Four other kidnapped western contractors have been missing for more than a year. The cases received new attention this month when the severed fingers of several of them were sent to the U.S. military in Iraq.
Some family members of the missing men took the discovery of the fingers as a sign of hope, but those hopes dimmed for some when the bodies were identified as two of the missing contractors.
One man's mother believes her son is dead “because they already killed the others.”
The brother of another missing man is still hoping for the best and “praying for everyone involved.”
