Tehran, Iran (AP) Iran says it's willing to enter another round of talks with the U.S. over Iraq.

Iran and the U.S. have held three rounds of ambassador-level talks in Baghdad on Iraqi security since last may. Foreign Ministry Spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini says Iran will “continue the talks, with necessary conditions.”

He says the U.S. sent an official request for talks through the Swiss embassy in Tehran because there are no formal relations between the two countries.

Hosseini does not say when the next round of talks will be held.

Washington accuses Iran of funneling arms to extremist groups in Iraq, but Tehran denies that.

Iran holds considerable sway in Iraq, where the majority of the population is also Shiite Muslim and where Shiite political parties have close ties to Tehran.
