Kabul, Afghanistan (AP) Afghanistan's intelligence chief says he warned President Hamid Karzai of the weekend assassination plot against him.
Amrullah Saleh has told parliament that the plot to kill Karzai was hatched last month and the gunmen had rented the room they opened fire from 45 days before the attack.
Karzai and other dignitaries escaped unharmed from Sunday's assault launched during a ceremony in kabul. But three people died.
The taliban claim responsibility.
Saleh admits it was a failure of the security services to stop the attack.
