KANDAHAR, Afghanistan (AP) - Two explosions have killed at least eight people and wounded many others in Kandahar in southern Afghanistan, where international forces are pushing into areas long held by the Taliban.

Zelmai Ayubi, spokesman for the Provincial Governor of Kandahar, says Tuesday's car bomb also wounded 22 people. The target of the explosions remains unclear, but he says Afghan policemen are among those injured.

Kandahar Provincial Police Chief Sardar Mohammad Zazai says the car bomb was followed by another explosion.
