WASHINGTON, (AP) Secretary of State John Kerry is headed to Cairo today in an effort to build momentum toward a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip.
He will urge the militant Palestinian group to accept a cease-fire agreement offered by Egypt. Twenty Israelis and hundreds of Palestinians have been killed in the conflict.
U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is also in Cairo today.
