Newcomers Alvin Deals Blow to Second Ranked Walters State Save Email Print

GRAND JUNCTION - The Alvin Community College Dolphins won their first ever JUCO World Series game with a 13-7 triumph over Walters County who entered as the second ranked team in the nation.

Chris Hermann and Pablo Salinas each homered and drove in three runs win the winning effort. Taylor Wulf(1-0) earned the win, striking out seven over 6.1 inninngs of work.

The Dolphins racked up 15 hits and scored in all but the first, eighth and ninth inning.

Chad Bell(0-1) suffered the loss for Walters State. They Senators will face Connors State on Snday at 2PM in a win-or-go-home matchup.

Alvin advances to face defending champion Chipola.
