Veterans at the VA hoospital got a special visit Friday afternoon.

The Santa Fe College Saints, one of the two final teams in the JUCO Championship, stopped at the Community Living Center Friday afternoon.

The players from Gainesville shook the hands of war veterans and gave them baseballs signed by the team.

Veterans and players both say it really made their day.

"Brightened it way up. Brightened it way, way up," Navy and Korean War Veteran Hal Frisch told 11 News.

"It's an unbelievable feeling to come here it just really humbles you and gives us an opportunity to give back to the people who gave us this great opportunity," said Right Fielder Ryan Mathews.

Saints players and coaches say win or lose this really made their trip. They were able to visit more than a dozen veterans.
