Grand Junction, Colo. (KKCO) – New local business owners cut the ribbon on their unique store Monday afternoon. The Country Cupboard is a candy and spice store, with unique art gifts filling the front. The shop is located at 2412 F Road, next to Cafe Rio.

The store offers some candy options that are new to the valley. They also have a different approach to the way you can purchase your spices; you can measure out your own amount so you don’t have to buy a lot when you just need a little spice for that new recipe you want to try out.

"You're able to come in and buy the spices by the ounce, and they're very fresh. We worked very hard to find a vendor that we could buy small quantities to offer our customers the best quality," says Michelle McCoy, the owner of the Country Cupboard.

Michelle and her husband Chris have long history here in Grand Junction. Chris grew up here and now works as a Grand Junction firefighter. Michelle has worked in the valley for several years and is happy to have a country store locally.

This week customers can get ten percent off candy and spices they purchase.

If you like the Country Cupboard on Facebook, you will be entered into a drawing to win some of the unique art in the front of the store.
