GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) Every year, high school marching bands in the Grand Valley get together for some friendly competition. The event is called the Grand Valley Marching Band Extravaganza, and this is the 16th year for the annual event.
The band extravaganza featured bands from Palisade, Central, Grand Junction, and Fruita Monument high schools.
The evening started with over 400 band members representing all four high schools, playing the National Anthem. The event was free to attend; the schools begin regular competition next week.
