A 22–year–old Delta High School teacher facing misdemeanor child abuse charges has resigned.
According John Jones with the Delta County School District, Brian Havel turned in a letter of resignation.
Police say Havel allowed other students to hit a 15–year–old boy because he was late to class. Police Chief Roger Christian said as many as 10 students hit or punched the boy a few weeks ago...
they say the boy was not hurt.
Investigators issued a summons last Friday.
