County Says Local Concrete Business Violating Several Codes

A local business could be facing some serious consequences, after county officials say it has ignored several warnings that it was violating codes.

Tuesday morning, the Mesa County Commissioners voted to take criminal actions against B.P.S Concrete Incorporated, saying the business was operating on land zoned residential and was putting fill materials in a floodway.

The county says in addition to complaints from neighbors, it's been telling owners to fix these problems for almost a year.

Officials say if the owners make changes to before the suit makes it to court, legal actions against them will be dropped. If not, they say the owners could end up paying a $200 a day fine until the code changes are made.
