A man who stabbed his roommate to death during a drunken argument will spend the next decade behind bars.
Under a plea agreement, illegal immigrant David Celestino-Sostenes was sentenced to ten years for second degree murder in the heat of passion.
Back in September, Celestino-Sostenes stabbed Fermin Gonzales to death. Celestino-Sostenes told authorities that Gonzales had been taunting him all night and had punched him so he grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed him multiple times in the chest.
Both men were working as farm hands in Olathe and living together in a mobile home.
Upon the completion of his sentence, Celestino-Sostenes will have to serve five years on parole and he will not be able to challenge deportation.
