Police say a woman suspected her husband was sexually abusing her daughter so she set up a camera and caught him.

11 News is not releasing the suspects name in order to protect the young victim in this case.

Yesterday in court the Grand Junction man was formally charged with 12 counts of sexual assault on a child.

An affidavit states the man was caught on tape by his wife sexually abusing her six year old daughter while she slept in a bunk bed.

The man was arrested by Ouray police.. He told them he was in Ouray to kill himself. At the time of his arrest he was drawing up a will.

We'll have more on this developing story tonight on 11 News Colorado at 5:30.

In this case, releasing names would identify the victim. DUH!

Something smells fishy here. I'd be willing to bet his name is recognizable, and they're protecting him, not the victim.

If convicted, which is obvious that he will be, he should immediately be casterated.

This Mom did the right thing. We need more moms like here who don't put her husband or boyfriend before her children. Thank you so much. This happen to me but it took me awhile to recover but I did there is only one way for her to heal and that is through Jesus Christ. Nobody else on earth can bring her the comfort and healing power like him. You must truly get to know him first. I will be praying for her. I am sorry this happened in the first place. Sometime we don't know why God allows things to happen but we can't be mad at him we have to worry about getting your daughter to recover and be the child she should be. (playing with friends, being a kid and just enjoying life.) God Bless!!!

I was molested when i was young, and the person that happened to do it to me got out of jail alot earlier then he should have. this man in this story should not have been bailed out. how does this state expect this crap to end here if they let people like that out? i think he should be rotting in jail. my situation was finally out in the open about 5 years ago and i still havent recovered. it haunts me every day of my life and because of this sick man, i strongly believe this little girl will never recover either, and that really sucks.

Having grown up in a similar situation, I would like to commend this mother for her actions. THIS is what we need. Mothers like her. Who put their children before themselves and the men in their lives. She had a feeling in her gut, and she acted on it! I hope justice prevails and this man gets what he deserves. I hope this little girl is able to recover from the actions of her sick, step-father.
