Officers Trade In Handcuffs for Server's Aprons to Help Good Cause

Local law enforcement agents traded in their badges and handcuffs for aprons and waiter's trays, all in the name of a good cause.

Several state troopers, sheriff's deputies, and police officers spent the day at Red Robin for their fourth annual "Tip A Cop" event. They spent the day busing tables and refilling customers' drinks to raise money for the Special Olympics.

Officials say they were able to raise $4,000 during last year's event, and hope to exceed that goal this year.

The Colorado Special Olympics provides a chance for special needs citizens to participate in 22 all season sports.

If you were unable to make it to Red Robin on Saturday, the restaurant is still taking donations this week.
