Car Flips and Slams Into Power Pole
Police think a Grand Junction woman was drunk when she crashed her car into power lines near downtown.
It happened just before 12:30am Saturday along Colorado Avenue.
Investigators say 26–year–old Leticia Valarde was driving north on Lawrence when she tried to turn onto Colorado, flipped her car, and slammed into a power pole.
The Grand Junction Police Department says power was knocked out to a subdivision in the area for more than two hours while crews could fix the pole.
Police the woman was treated at the scene for minor injuries. Valarde is facing DUI and careless driving charges.
