Mesa County officials say new river flow levels show that the snowpack is starting to melt faster. But they say it's still above average so the risk for flooding right now is low, at least for the rest of the month.
That information came out of a meeting today.
Mesa County Public Works, Public Safety. the National Weather Service and other water management agencies met to talk about planning and preperation in the case of a flood.
The group meets every month to get an updated forecast.
County officials say it it still too early to get a longterm forecast of potential flooding problems.
