A firefighter with the Clifton Fire Protection District made an unexpected delivery Sunday morning.

A pregnant woman was on her way to the hospital with a friend when the she went into labor. The two pulled off into the Dairy Queen near the intersection of the I-70 Business Loop and 30 Road.

Clifton Fire was called and just a few minutes after they arrived, so did a newborn baby girl.

The baby was delivered by firefighter Mike Lockwood. He says it's the tenth baby he's delivered in his 23 years with the Clifton Fire Protection District.

Lockwood says the new baby and the new mom were taken to the hospital and are both in good health.
