After containing a 20 acre fire on the Grand Mesa Sunday night, fire crews were back on scene Monday to make sure it didn't flare up again.

The fire broke out Sunday near mile marker 3 along Highway 330.

Official say the steep terrain and the many trees in the area made it very difficult for firefighters to battle it directly.

They instead had to set up fire lines along the bottom and east of the hillside, and waited for the flames to come to them.

Officials say the fire was caused by an agricultural burn that got out of control.

There was a home nearby, but no one was forced to evacuate.
