A shed refurbrished by Sharefest is now one of eight fires in a local area for the past year. Arson is believed to be the cause for all eight.

Eighty Seven year old Sina Krasnow, a Holocaust survivor, woke up to a fire in her backyard at 2:30 a.m. Monday morning. Grand Junction Fire Department believes the fire to be a result of arson.

Eight fires have occured in a one mile radius around White and Grand Avenues over the past year. Fire officials say they don't believe all eight fires are connected but do want to try and find out who set them.

The shed in Monday's fire was a project for Sharefest. Sharefest helped paint and fix up Krasnow's back yard. Losses are estimated at $1,500.

If you have any information on this or any other fire you are asked to call Grand Junction Police or Fire Departments.
