Renowned Tracker Trains Mesa County Search and Rescue

A man known world wide for his tracking tactics is helping Mesa County Search and Rescue brush up on its skills.

Joel Hardin has tracked the footsteps of others for more than 35 years. Now, he uses his expertise to train military, law enforcement and search and rescue teams how to find clues about a person’s whereabouts just by looking at a footprint.

“The physical evidence that's written on the ground or on the floor every time you take a step tells what you're thinking. What your intentions are. Your comfort zone. Your fears,” says Hardin

Seven counties were involved in this weekend’s training including Mesa, Delta and Ouray.
