Alert Neighbors and Pawn Shop Employee Help Police Nab Burglary Suspect

Alert neighbors and a suspicious pawn shop employee help deputies catch a burglary suspect.

18-year-old Cory Gordon is facing four felony charges including two counts of third degree burglary.

According the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, Gordon stole hundreds of dollars worth of tools from his friend's dad and tried to pawn them. They also believe he stole gas from a tank at the house.

Deputies say neighbors say Gordon's truck at the victims house and were able to provide a description.

When Gordon allegedly tried to pawn the tools, an employee at a pawn shop on Pitkin Avenue took the items and refused to give it back because Gordon didn't have an ID and could barely describe the items he had brought in.

Gordon is being held on a $100 thousand bond.
