The extradition papers for a woman accused of hiding her dead baby in her parent's closet are on their way to Governor Bill Ritter's desk.
Mesa County District Attorney Pete Hautzinger says his office is treating the extradition as a "high priority."
Morgan Hite is accused of giving birth to her baby in a Grand Junction home, and then putting him into a plastic bag and hiding him in a closet. The dead baby was discovered more than two months later by his grandparents.
Governor Ritter's office is assuring the DA that the paperwork will be signed and sent to Alaska as soon as it arrives in Denver.
There's no word on how fast Alaskan authorities plan to take in process the paperwork
