Fugitive From New Mexico Captured Outside Fruita Restaurant
Fruita, Colo. (AP) A man wanted on a New Mexico warrant is jailed in Mesa County after being arrested at a Fruita restaurant.
Police and mesa county sheriff's deputies waited outside the building after receiving a tip to the whereabouts of 39-year-old Jerry Eugene Yates.
He was arrested without incident after he exited the restaurant.
Authorities say Yates faces charges of cruelty toward a child, obstructing an officer and resisting arrest. Details are not immediately available.
Police say Yates may also face charges in connection with items found in his car, but officials didn't elaborate.
