Higher temperature moving into Grand Junction this weekend could cause flooding in some parts of the county. With a snowpack at 140% of normal the 90 degree temperature expected to hit Monday could send most of that water into the local rivers and streams.

Residents of Collbran and Plateau Valley could see the biggest rise in river water, with an increase that could raise levels several feet. Mesa County officials say people living along the Colorado and Gunnison River Basins should prepare for high water.

Some parts of the Riverside Trail could possibly be flooding over causing a closing of that trial. Areas that are being watched include the Blue Heron section and the Roseview section near highway 340.
