Temperatures Climb Toward 90 Degrees Just in Time for GJ Pool Opening

High temperature forecasts for Monday and Tuesday could breach the 90 degree mark, which is just in time for the opening of the Lincoln Park Moyer Pool.

It would be the first time since September 9th of 2007 that Grand Junction registered a high temperature in the 90s. Grand Junction's official temperature is taken at Grand Junction Regional Airport. Other local weather stations have recorded 90 degree highs.

According to the National Weather Service, the earliest date for a high temperature in the 90s came on May 3rd, 1947. The National Weather Service has kept climatalogical data for Grand Junction for 100 years.

All this hot weather is just in time for the opening of one of Grand Junction's public pools. The Lincoln Park Moyer Pool will officially open this Saturday May 24th at 1:30 p.m. A special middle school event will take place Friday night. The annual Dive and Jive will take place May 23rd from 8:30-10:30 p.m.
