Montrose residents aren't the only ones getting a new zip code - 5900 folks in the Redlands are too.
On July 1st, some Redlands residents using zip code 81503 will switch to 81507. If your zip code is changing, you will get a letter to let you know.
The zipcode change affects 81503 zip code users that live in the area bounded by the Colorado river to the north, the Colorado & Gunnison Rivers on the east, the Colorado Monument on the south and Fruita on the west.
The US Postal Service says the new zip codes should help with the high growth and planned development in the area.
