Arson Task Force Sets Up Tip Line

A surveillance tape featuring the suspected serial arsonist has been released, and now the joint Arson Task Force is asking for your help.

The Grand Junction Fire and Police Departments have joined forces to create the Arson Task Force. Now the task force has created a tip line for residents to call if they have information on the fires or a potential suspect.

Sixteen suspicious fires have occurred since January. No injuries have resulted in any of the fires. Damage and property loss is estimated at over $150,000.

Sgt. Paul Quimby with the Grand Junction Police Department says any tips received will be followed up on by an investigator of the Arson Task Force. Quimby says so far his office has received over 10 tips about the suspected fires.

If you have any information you are asked to call the arson tip line at 244-3777 or Crimestoppers at 241-8477.
