GJPD Foot Pursuit Downtown

Grand Junction Police say a routine traffic stop took a wrong turn when a driver got out of his car and took off.

Officers say the driver is Deitrich Bostelman, 23.

They say around five–o'clock Thursday evening, he was pulled over for reckless driving, but when he stopped the car, he got out, and took off through downtown.

Officers chased him down, and eventually arrested him in the 200 block of Main Street.

Bostelman is now in the Mesa County Jail, facing charges ranging from vehicular eluding to driving without a seatbelt.

This is not Bostelman's first run–in with the law.

He has a long–standing record, including burglary and drug charges in Mesa County.
