A downtown intersection was closed Friday afternoon because of an accident that sent one man to the hospital.
Grand Junction Police say that a purple Jeep Cherokee didn’t stop for a light at the intersection of 4th and Ute avenue and was struck by a dump truck.
The condition of driver is not currently known, but he was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital with head lacerations.
Traffic was diverted through downtown until they were able to reopen the intersection.
