The Grand Junction Fire Department says a small fire that started near a carport may be connected to a serial arsonist who has been attacking homes since January.
That fire broke out late Wednesday night in the 1300 block of Elm Avenue.
Officials say someone ignited a pile of wood that was sitting next to a carport.
They say some neighbors noticed the fire burning and extinguished it before it could do much damage.
They left a note for the homeowner who called police in the morning.
Authorities say they are investigating this fire individually but the time, location, and manner of the fire fit the profile of the serial arsonist.
