The death of a Grand Junction woman found dead in her driveway at 397 Ridge Circle was deemed an accident.
Grand Junction Police department’s investigation says that 49 year old Paivi Ann Hopson died from injuries stemming from releasing her parking brake while parked on an incline.
Investigators state that Hopson’s pickup was parked on an incline and her manual transmission was left in neutral with the parking brake set. As Hopson entered the vehicle, she released the emergency brake, causing the truck to roll backwards down the driveway and running over her.
Drugs and Alcohol were not a factor in the incident.
