GRAND JUNCTION Federal prosecutors are pursuing gun charges against two men from Delta - a felon later convicted of poaching and another man who allegedly gave him a rifle to hunt.
Thirty-year-old Brandon Cook and 29-year-old Jonathan Boyd were arrested Thursday and were later advised of the charges against them in federal court in Grand Junction.
Boyd is accused of providing Cook with a Weatherby model Mark V rifle. Prosecutors say Cook used the gun to poach a trophy class bull elk, something he pleaded guilty to in state court earlier.
Both Cook and Boyd could each face up to 10 years in prison and up to a $250,000 fine. It's not clear if either of them has a lawyer yet.
They're scheduled to appear in court again on Monday.
