A tie vote in City Council Monday night kills a controversial zoning proposal.

Last night after two hours of arguments, City council voted three to three on allowing Brady trucking to rezone their riverside property into industrial zoning.

A group of Orchard Mesa neighbors fought a plan to rezone the piece of land next to the colorado river. Brady Trucking wants to expand it's site at 27 1/2 and C ½ road.

The company says it has tried to work with the city to find a new location, but it needs to get on with business. While neighbors say a trucking operation has no business being on the riverfront, the trucking company says it's private property

The issue will be visited by city council at a later date.
