Collin Raye jammed out to thousands of fans to kick off the first day of Country Jam 2008.

Raye says he always loves to come back to his fans in Colorado.

He sat down with 11 News to talk all about his love for music, which started at a young age.

Raye says his mother used to be a performer and opened for famous acts like Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley!

When asked how fast that “Little Red Rodeo” really went, he laughed and said years ago, when that signature song was a hit, he approached the automaker to use the song for advertising.

But when the company declined, Rays says that was it, and eventually they ran out of time to use it.

Raye says he still laughs in his mind every time he plays it, thinking about the millions of dollars it could have helped bring in, that are now just like a song in the wind.
