The Mesa County Sheriff and the Bureau for Land Management are putting in effect fire restrictions beginning Wednesday July 2nd due to the hot and dry weather pattern.

Under the restrictions there is to be no open burning and campfires on public lands. It is unclear at this time whether there will be a ban on public use of fireworks.

The BLM says the restrictions are needed to help prevent human caused wildfires.

I keep a fairly close watch on the news and I didn't hear about this except from a friend. You should probebly make this more known so people are more prepared and know if there is going to be a fireworks ban as well.
