A tanker truck that lost its brakes and rolled into the Colorado River is still submerged. The truck will be pulled out later this morning.

Officials say it's not posing any threats to the river or the environment..
This isn't the first time a water truck has gone into the water but the fast moving current has complicated things.

According to Grand Valley Fire Protection District, the truck was filling up with fresh water when the brakes went out and it slipped into the river. The driver was not in the truck and was not pulled in or injured.

The accident happened half way between De Beque and Parachute. Hazmat was called out to the scene. The truck was full of about 20 gallons of diesel fuel but has a specially designed gas tank so no fuel leaked.
