Grand Junction firefighters have contained a brush fire that was burning out of control just south of the river near "C 1/2 Road and Rosevale.

Crews on scene tell 11 News the flames spread quickly and burned a few sheds. Several homes were close to the blaze but nobody was evacuated

A BLM helicopter was sent out to the scene to help.
