Man Arrested for Assault, Kidnapping His Own Wife

Police say a man kidnapped his own wife threatened to take her to the desert and kill her. Officials also say he hit the victim more than 12 times with a closed fist.

This man, 27–year–old Frederick Chihocky is facing kidnapping and assault charges. According to an arrest affidavit, Chihocky's wife caught him kissing another woman. When she and a friend confronted him, he hit the friend then grabbed his wife and threw her in a van.

The affidavit states he then told another woman to drive to the desert so he could kill his wife. The victim says she was able to convince her husband to take her home. When they got there she ran away and called police.

Chihocky's bond has not been set.
