St. Mary's Hospital says inspections and repairs to Care Flight should be finished today.

Hospital officials say that on Sunday night, instruments inside the chopper indicated it was losing pressure, forcing pilots to make a precautionary landing at FruitaMonument High School.

They say the aircraft was put through a complete mechanical inspection to make sure it was safe to fly. While rescue officials say it's unfortunate that care flight was down, they add that rescue crews have forced to rely on the chopper.

"For them, it's still the same scenarios...they're still prepared to do ground support,” says Mike Page of Grand Junction Fire And Rescue.

A fixed wing aircraft is available as a backup, although it could not go out on wilderness calls or land on the highway.
