Clover Fire Burns Near Collbran

Officials are continuing to keep a close eye on the Clover fire, burning near Collbran.

The fire started Wednesday from a lightning strike.

So far, it has burned 300 acres.

Smoke Jumpers worked overnight Wednesday into Thursday battling the blaze, which effectively slowed the fire down.

The fire burned 220 acres Wednesday, but only 80 so far on Thursday.

The Craig Hot Shots have been called in to help keep an eye on the fire and put out any hot spots or flare ups.

Because the fire is burning in such a remote location, BLM and Fire officials monitoring the fire from the air.
